Covid 19 Update
We are now 14 weeks into Lockdown and I trust that you are all well and fit, if you know of any Brethren who are unwell or just under the weather either physically or mentally please inform either RWM or myself and we can arrange a visit or a call to the brother concerned.
At the General Committee Meeting on 16th March the Lodge Trustees ( RWM, WSW, WJW & Sec) along with the Treasurer and Social Convenor were given the authority to conduct the Lodge Business as they see fit. This document is to let you the Brethren know what has been happening.
Bro Treasurer has been paying our insurance premiums from the Building Fund account, we have a further 3 payments to make in July August and September. This is thanks to the brethren who pay into the building fund by direct debit and others who make an annual contribution. The boundary fence between the Masonic Hall and our next door neighbour Mrs Reid was blown down in a gale in February Mrs Reid contacted us and asked if we could contribute to its repair. The Trustees agreed to this and the fence was repaired by a local tradesman. The cost to the Lodge of this was £260.00. We felt that this was necessary to maintain the goodwill of our neighbour. Again the cost was met from the building fund. A thanks goes to Bro Alan Richmond who sprayed the surroundings of the building with weed killer to prevent this from overgrowing into neighbouring property.
As you may be aware during the current pandemic may Masonic bodies have been contributing to local charities. In association with Provincial Grand Lodge and Grand Lodge 1405 has also made a contribution. PLG has split the province into groups of Lodges and asked that each Lodge made a contribution of £50 towards local Food Banks. We were allocated into a group of 6 Lodges. Prince of Wales, Moorpark, Erskine, Georgetown and Royal Stuart. The 6 Lodges contributed £50 each which was matched by £50 per Lodge from PGL. Grand Lodge will also contribute the same amount giving a total of £900. These funds will be presented to Renfrewshire Food Bank based in Renfrew, who act as a distribution centre for other local food banks. This donation was paid from our Benevolent Fund.
This has been the main financial business which the trustees have carried out and ongoing bills will be paid as necessary. Please bear in mind brethren that we will have no major income for the foreseeable future and we are far from debt free at the moment although the situation is not as grim as it might have been. I would appeal to you that if you are in a position to help out by means of a donation to either the social fund or the building fund I can assure you it will be gratefully received and faithfully applied. A transfer to the building fund may be carried out electronically to account No 00205421 Sort Code 80-18-44. If you wish to donate to Social Club or Lodge please send a cheque via Lodge Address 10 Luckinsford Rd, Inchinnan, PA4 9QN.
Once again Brethren please keep safe, follow the rules, please let us know if anyone requires help or if they are sick. Contact Numbers are RWM Harry McDonagh 07857 501258, Secretary Jim Colvin 07944 386674.
